Today is review day!
So as I have shared, inspired by the book Atomic Habits, I decided to show up for a few tasks, without bothering too much about how much time I spend on it, or the quality of it.
2 minutes of showing up is good enough.
This article is divided into 2 parts.
- What have I accomplished? (In terms of showing up)
- What’s the lesson?
- What’s the next step?
So how have I done?
Meditation
- Evening Meditation – 17 day streak
- Morning meditation – 10 day streak
Write my novel for 2 minutes – 8 day streak
Draw my comic for 2 minutes and publish – 14 day streak
Write article for 2 minutes – 7 day streak
Publish this series of articles daily – 7 day streak
Study for GMAT – 5 day streak
Read Science Fiction (Fun) daily – 10 day streak
Learning how to make games – 8 day streak
So this is pretty much it from me for this week! I will review things again next week.
What is the lesson/reflection?
These small streaks have given me a real sense of purpose. I am able to channel my energy not in watching TV shows, but in being productive. I have done more than I thought was possible, and I am constantly being surprised by how much more I can do.
Because once you begin to build the habit of doing, the work starts to happen. And then I can really start thinking about how to do it and how to improve it.
I know that on some days I do shoddy work, but that’s because I am just starting out. I know that it will get better as I continue to work.
Again, thank you for reading, if you are reading here!
My advice, start with 2 minutes of the thing you really want to do! Those 2 minutes are the key to starting something great!
NEXT STEPS
Reach 30 days and then I will see if I wish to revise my goals. Right now I am happy with the way things are going.
